Jim Gannon isn’t a career politician.

As a law enforcement professional with over four decades of experience ranging from a local beat cop in Boonton and Boonton Township, to Deputy Chief of Investigations at the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, to a member of the FBI's elite Joint Terrorism Task Force, to the Global Head of Security Risk at a Fortune 500 company like Novartis, Jim Gannon is uniquely qualified to confront the current challenges facing law enforcement and to keep Morris County’s families safe. As Morris County’s Sheriff, Jim Gannon pledges to:

Work with local, county, state, and federal law enforcement & public safety communities to keep Morris County’s neighborhoods, schools, and businesses safe and secure, and to strengthen the county’s preparedness in light of the increased threat of terrorism. Programs like RSVP3!

Promote programs that help seniors identify and avoid consumer fraud, keep children safe, crack down on gangs, and combat the use and sale of illegal drugs. Programs like Hope One!

Continue to maintain a productive and respectful relationship with the Board of County Commissioners and continue to commit the Sheriff’s Office to financial accountability and responsibility in these challenging economic times. Programs like the Agreement with Sussex County to maintain custody of their inmates for a revenue opportunity for Morris County of over $1.75 MM annually!

Constantly seek and receive certifications through extensive review by accreditation bodies including the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA); American Correctional Association (ACA) and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC). Furthermore, Highlands Forensics has certified the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit and is the only CSI Unit certified in New Jersey!
